• "Just one of the smartest, most determined people I've ever known, doing exactly what native Coloradans have been asking for amid the migration out of red states. She’s building consciously, preserving history, and thoughtfully creating vibrant community spaces instead of more beige corporate housing. She saw a need, developed a solid business plan to meet it, and will succeed because she's more intelligent and proactive than anyone I know. Honestly, I'm not promoting—I'm bragging she's my friend. 😁"

  • “We were designated to be custodians of this generation’s antiquities.” — Elden Leasure, Amarillo Motel, Westside Colorado Springs

  • The Amarillo wasn’t glamorous. But it was home. 40 units — part motel, part rescue net — stood for decades where zoning codes and city council meetings fell short.

  • Then came the redevelopment. And the shrug. “We’re looking at it,” said officials, while tenants packed, while a family closed a legacy, while a block disappeared.

  • No hearing. No protest. Just a quiet bulldozing of a functional (imperfect) model. Another space that “wasn’t built for long-term occupancy.” Except it was. And it did. For years.

  • We didn’t invent this. We inherited it. fUc–CO doesn’t pretend to be a brand-new solution. We’re just giving forgotten ones a mic, a model, and a blueprint.

  • We’re not here to stop change. We’re here to stop pretending erasure is progress. If you remember a space like the Amarillo… Tell us. Fill out our Contact Form. We’re listening.
